Kiwis bag prizes at Aussie TV awards: 'so suck it'
New Zealanders Sam Neill and Guy Montgomery won at this year's Logies.
New Zealand acting legend Sam Neill and comedian Guy Montgomery have scooped up trophies at Australia’s biggest television awards, the Logies.
Neill won the prize for best lead actor in a drama forThe Twelve while Montgomery took home the most popular new talent award for comedy panel show Guy Montgomery's Guy Mont-Spelling Bee.
"This is really crazy," Montgomery said on stage after accepting the award.

"I am from New Zealand.
"I know, so I am so sorry to all of your country, but suck it, we got one up on you this time."
He told the ABC he would like to see more comic-led projects be given a chance on Australian TV.
"[I'd like to see networks] going out to comedians and being like, 'Hey, what do you think you can make?' [and] more opportunity for comedians to actually express themselves.
"I feel like Spelling Bee did well because I arrived with an idea finished, and they let me make it, and that's quite rare."
Montgomery also accepted an award on behalf of his co-host Aaron Chen, who won best lead actor in the comedy series Fisk. The show was a big winner on the night, scoring five awards.
Home and Away star Lynne McGranger - the longest-serving female actor in any Australian drama - nabbed the prize of the night - the Gold Logie.
