US President Donald Trump has revealed a fragrance line called Victory 45-47. Each limited edition 97.5ml bottle costs about US$250 (about NZ$410).

“Trump Fragrances are here,” the 45th and 47th President of the United States posted on Truth Social, the social media platform he owns.

Around the same time, the Republican-led US Senate approved Trump's mammoth domestic policy bill by the narrowest of margins.

Trump's bill proposes a $4.5 trillion extension of his first term tax cuts, contentiously offset with $1.2t in savings mainly targeting the Medicaid health insurance programme, as well as federal food aid, AFP reported.

Meanwhile, Trump announced his new scents saying: “They’re called Victory 45-47 because they’re all about Winning, Strength, and Success".

The fragrances for men and women are topped with a golden statuette of Trump (rose gold for women), with his signature printed in black on the base. They come in a matte black box for men, and red for women, with gold detail.

Other merchandise featuring Trump's name and likeness, according to The New York Times, currently includes a cellphone, sneakers, diamond encrusted watches, guitars and digital trading cards featuring Trump in heroic poses.

Reaction was swift online, with critics accusing the president of corruption, Retuers reported.

"There's never been, and I don't think in American history, someone who's stealing so much in plain sight - grifting and graft," US Senator Mark Warner of Virginia said in a video shared on X.

Senator Peter Welch, a Democrat from Vermont, noted Trump was advertising the fragrances while Republicans sought to reduce Medicare benefits for low-income Americans in his budget bill.

"Senate Democrats are fighting to prevent President Trump from kicking 17 million people off their health care and he's promoting his line of fragrances," Welch said on X.

The White House declined to comment about the criticism.

In 2012 Trump released a line called Success and in 2004 Donald Trump The Fragrance came out.

The president has said he put his business interests in a trust managed by his children to avoid conflicts of interest, but income from such business ventures will eventually enrich the president, who sits atop the series of Trump family firms.

The Trump Fragrance website says the new men’s Victory 45-47 “blends rich, masculine notes,” while the women’s version offers a “sophisticated, subtly feminine scent".

Elena Knezevic, the editor and co-founder of the fragrance forum Fragrantica described the male scent as "simple and inoffensive, rather quiet, office-safe, with a sweetish and smooth amber-woody finish".

"Cologne for men smells familiar, like an average, passing casual masculine scent without remarkable details. Functional and pleasant, especially in its wider aura, but not particularly memorable."

Victory 45-47 is the second line of presidential fragrances. The first, called Fight, Fight, Fight, was released last year during the campaign featuring a well known photograph of Trump with his fist in the air, a nod to the assassination attempt against him.

Fight Fight Fight for women is described as an "empowering" perfume. "For women who embody strength and grace, like President Trump. This scent is your call to action." It blends floral and citrus notes, the website says.

Fight Fight Fight for men meanwhile, "is your rallying cry in a bottle ... for men who fight to win and never surrender".
